Implants
Dental implants are artificial roots which are generally put in to support the crowns. Basically, they replace the missing teeth. The dental implant is made up of titanium metal and it is inserted into the jawbone where the tooth is missing. It is a permanent process done with a dental surgery. It involves four stages– teeth examination, then insertion of implants, taking the impression of teeth for preparation of teeth and in the end, fitting of crown or bridges.
They are better than bridges, conventional crowns or dentures as they always seem to be appearing as the natural teeth. They even function in the same way as the natural ones. Dental implants cause no difficulty in eating or cleansing of the teeth. It is a safe process which is suitable for anyone who has attained the age of 18 years and above because bone tissues are not well developed before that age.
